The Emergency Management Department joined experts from various agencies from across the Inland Empire as part of the Countywide HazMat Operations Group (CHOG) for an exercise held in San Bernardino County to simulate a hazardous materials incident at a rail yard. Exercises such as these give responders the opportunity to practice existing plans and work together with other agencies to ensure they are ready for real-world events.

In addition to working with emergency responders, EMD also trains area hospitals and staff on how to decontaminate those exposed to hazardous materials so they can be properly treated.
