The Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) is a federally-funded initiative that enhances the ability of Riverside County’s health care system to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.
Under HPP, EMD receives funds and guidance to plan for healthcare surge capacity, medical evacuation, alternate care sites, disaster healthcare volunteers, and fatality management. Other program priorities include: pharmaceutical caches, personal protective equipment and decontamination.
HPP provides Riverside County healthcare personnel various emergency response training courses to ensure standardization of equipment and competency-based instruction for health care personnel responding to a terrorist incident or other public health emergency.
