Event Details

Course Description:
Psychological First Aid teaches skills to help individuals reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events. taking on the role of a provider after a disaster. Utilizing the RAPID model (Reflective listening, Assessment of needs, Prioritization, Intervention, and Disposition), this specialized course provides perspectives on injuries and trauma that are beyond those physical in nature. Objectives:

  • Identify the intervention strategies of Psychological First Aid (PFA)
  • Gain skills to implement the intervention strategies
  • Adapt Psychological First Aid in diverse settings and with different populations
  • Appreciate the importance of providing PFA in the aftermath of disaster
