Celebrating our volunteers!

Year after year, our volunteers provide a valuable resource—their time. Today, we had the opportunity to present them with awards for their passion and dedication to volunteerism. For 2023, Volunteers contributed 66 hours of volunteer service, demonstrating consistent commitment to supporting emergency management initiatives.
Four categories were recognized. They are as follows:
The first is the Most Hours Served in 2023. This award acknowledges the volunteer who has contributed the most hours across all volunteer programs, exemplifying the spirit of selflessness and service to our community. The recipient of this award is Scott Morse.
The second category is the “Let’s Make it Happen” Award. This award celebrates individuals whose unwavering commitment and proactive spirit have significantly enhanced our preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities during times of crisis. Scott Morse also received this award.
Third, the “On the Spot” Award recognizes an exemplary disaster volunteer who has consistently exceeded in serving multiple community engagements within the County of Riverside EMD. They are respected for their proactive approach, dedication to training, and ability to inspire others through their actions and leadership during critical incidents. Paul Bakeman received this award.
Lastly, the Volunteer of the Year 2023 award was awarded. This prestigious award recognizes a volunteer's exceptional commitment, leadership, and selfless dedication to enhancing emergency preparedness and community resilience throughout the County of Riverside. Cipriano “Cye” Castellano received this award.
