February Rains
2/14/2025 at 10:00AM— Evacuation Warning for the El Cariso Village area has been cancelled. The shelter has been closed. Residents may still encounter isolated areas of mud and debris on roads. Please use caution while driving in the area. Now is the time to prepare for future rains. Have an emergency kit, know multiple evacuation routes and sign up for Alert RivCo, the County’s local emergency alert system.
2/13/25 -- Emergency Management and public safety agencies are working with county departments and the National Weather Service to monitor the current storms. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant. Increased water, mud and debris are possible from recent burn scars. Roadways may experience flooding. Do not cross flooded roadways and obey all posted road closure signs.
An Evacuation Warning was issued on 2/12/2025 for a handful of residents in the El Cariso Village area. In addition to an Alert RivCo message and a Wireless Emergency Alert, Riverside County Sheriff went door to door to notify residents in the Evacuation Warning area.

For shelter assistance, call 2-1-1 or (951) 686-4402. Use caution on roadways. Do not cross flooded roadways. Sandbags available at fire station. Be prepared for evacuations.
A Reception and Care site has been established for anyone displaced by Evacuation Warnings at the Alderwood Clubhouse, located at 28610 Baxter Road, in Murrieta.
Anyone in or near the Airport Fire burn scar should be alert for increased runoff, mud and debris flows, which could enter homes and block roadways. Sandbags are available at local fire stations to help prevent water from entering homes.
EMD continues to monitor the current and incoming storms, expected to continue through Friday, with Thursday evening/overnight being forecast as having the potential for the most intense rains. Residents in or near recent burn scars should be prepared for possible evacuations. Use caution while driving on wet roadways. Recent burn scars may produce mud and debris on roads. Remember, Turn Around, Don't Drown when you come to flooded roadways.
